When, where and by whom has the word missional been used in the past, in particular, prior to the publication of the book Missional Church in 1998?  We all know that since then the use of the word has exploded. (And in all sorts of directions, with all sorts of meanings!! But that's another story, and maybe a topic for another Forum later.) But what about its uses before 1998. How was it used, and in reference to what? And what about the phrase missional church? Among its earlier uses, when, where, and by whom was missional used as a modifier of the word church or any of its synonyms (such as community, congregation, etc.) This topic is asking for a bit of wiki-missioning, I suppose, that can trace and document the history of the term. What do we actually know about it?
